2010 Racer Update!

The Siege on Fort Yargo is designed to attract new racers to the sport of adventure racing. While perfect for beginners, the course will still challenge experienced teams of 2 or 3 throughout Fort Yargo State Park.

The race will include 8-10 miles of mountain biking, 5-6 miles of trail running, 2-3 miles of paddling, orienteering points and a few special events. Basic navigational skills will be needed to complete the course. This is an unsupported race.

The event will be limited to the first 150 teams that register. Registration will close May 15.

 

When

Race Start:: 8:30 AM on Saturday June 5, 2010

Where

Fort Yargo State Park located in Winder, GA on Hwy 81.

Cost

  • Trailblazer members - $50
  • Renewing Trailblazer members - $65
  • Non-Trailblazer members - $65

    • * The cost of the race includes membership in the TrailBlazers Adventure Racing Club. If your membership expires prior to June 30, 2010 you will have to renew your membership as part of registration at Renewing TrailBlazers price ($65).

Team Format

Teams of two or three may be coed, all male, or all female. Masters division for both 2 and 3 person if enough teams. For Masters Division, all team members must be over 40.

Age

The minimum age to participate in the Siege on Ft Yargo is 13 years old by June, 5 2010. Parental consent is required.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each category if there are sufficient teams in that category.

Navigation Training

  • We will conduct basic navigation skills training for participants at the Athletic Club NE, 1515 Sheridan Rd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 and at REI stores throughout the Atlanta area. Look to Upcoming Club Events for details.
