The Siege on Fort Yargo is designed to attract new racers to the sport of adventure racing. While perfect for beginners, the course will still challenge experienced teams of 3 throughout Fort Yargo State Park. The race will include 8-10 miles of mountain biking, 4-5 miles of trail running, 2-3 miles of paddling, some orienteering points and a few special events. One team member will be required to complete a short distance swim. Basic navigational skills will be needed to complete the course. This is an unsupported race.

The event will be limited to the first 120 teams that register. Registration will close June 1.

Race Start: 9:30 AM on Saturday June 14, 2008

Fort Yargo State Park located in Winder, GA on Hwy 81.

Cost

  • Trailblazer members - $60
  • Renewing Trailblazer members - $75
  • Non-Trailblazer members - $75

  • The cost of the race includes membership in the TrailBlazers Adventure Racing Club. If your membership expires prior to July 30, 2008 you will have to renew your membership as part of registration at Renewing TrailBlazers price ($75).

Team Format

Teams of three may be coed, all male, or all female. Only teams of three are allowed.

Age

The minimum age to participate in the Siege on Ft Yargo is 13 years old by 14 June 2008. Parental consent is required.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to the top five coed teams. The top team in the all female and all male categories (at least 3 registered teams to form category) will also receive prizes. Depending on number of teams and sponsorship, we may go deeper with prizes in the male/female categories.
